Todd Cutler Summary “IS THERE A BETTER WAY ?”   As stated on the conference web site, ”Librarians are facing new challenges and new approaches by changing their old way of thinking and working to become a librarian 2.0.”  This is also true of libraries in the United States.  The successful ones are asking tough questions and rethinking library services.  They are asking, “Is there a better way?”.  For some libraries, their survival depends on challenging and changing their way old way of thinking.  For the U.S. libraries, there are a variety of areas that have been improved using technology.  I am fortunate enough to be involved in helping improve some of the areas.  There are a variety of examples that show the before and after effects of improving library processes for staff as well as patrons.  These examples and discussions are intended to be the impetus for librarians to look within their own library to determine, “Is there a better way?”.
